After a long bus ride that involved many group singalongs, me and my friends became the second group of the 2022 7th grade class to set foot upon AMC Cardigan Lodge, a rustic-looking place that had been reserved for us so we could hike and learn about nature. We had been briefed by our friends back at home who had gone on the first trip and said the place was good and had met their expectations. After eating lunch we started our hike with our instructor Shawn and were taught about the leave no trace policy that we would prevent us from damaging the environment to much, I and we began to sketch various trees and plants as we hiked up the mountainside on the smaller hike of our time here, when we reached the top we saw a car that had been used for the ski lift that had operated from the top of the mountain. And while looking around we saw the lift itself, which the engine of the car had been taken out of so we could easily go skiing in the winter beacause of the beautiful snow that makes toruists aprieciate our new england winters, another example of how are beautiful environment changes us for the better. As we went down the mountain eating our snacks when we spotted a chipmunk that had gotten used to humans which we first found funny but then realized it was terrible which was an unfortunate example of how humans negatively affect the environment due to the amount of food that makes animals trust humans even though they shouldn't be trusted. Then as we got back to the lodge we played football and ate spaghetti. Then after a dehumanizing and brutal experience with the frosted glass showers, we went to bed, where we talked and goofed around for the next 5 hours, but not after getting chocolates and treats from Mr. Woolner. It was the start of a memorable 3 days.
